The Dungala Kaiela Oration 2010 was proudly presented in Shepparton by the Kaiela Planning Council and the University of Melbourne on 21 June 2010. The keynote address was delivered by Mr Richard Goyder, Managing Director of Wesfarmers Ltd, with a response by Professor Marcia Langton, Foundation Chair of Australian Indigenous Studies at The University of Melbourne.

About the Event

The Dungala Kaiela Defining Shepparton oration is held each year to celebrate Aboriginal cultural identity, create a shared vision for the people of the greater Goulburn Valley region, and promote Aboriginal cultural and socio-economic development.

The oration is an initiative of the Kaiela Planning Council and The University of Melbourne and – on behalf of the Koori Resource and Information Centre, the Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative, the Rumbalara Football Netball Club, the Njernda Cooperative and the Murrup Barak Melbourne Institute of Indigenous Development.
